"I did not know there is love in sLOVEnia, but (A)I definitely felt it."
With this light-hearted opening, our journey to the EAEF Conference 2026 in Ljubljana began. It perfectly captured the spirit of the event, reflecting what the international Employee Assistance community is all about: openness, trusted collaboration and a shared commitment to continuously improving support for employees.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Board of the European Association for Employee Assistance (EAEF) for once again creating an outstanding platform for international networking, professional exchange and forward-looking discussions.
Over several days, experts from across Europe came together to discuss current developments, challenges and innovative approaches in the fields of Employee Assistance and workplace wellbeing.
INSITE was also represented with its own presentation. Titled "Resilience at Scale – Can We Ethically Support Millions Without More Humans?", the session explored how artificial intelligence can be integrated into Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs) in a responsible and ethical way.
The key message was clear: the future of Employee Assistance is not a competition between people and AI. Rather, success lies in combining the unique strengths of both.
As the global demand for mental health and wellbeing support continues to grow, technology has an important role to play. It can provide accessible support, rapid guidance and significantly greater reach. At the same time, trust, empathy, ethical responsibility, professional judgement and crisis intervention remain fundamentally human capabilities that cannot be replaced.
The discussion that followed demonstrated how the conversation has evolved. The question is no longer whether AI will become part of modern wellbeing ecosystems, but how it can be implemented responsibly, transparently and always for the benefit of the people it is designed to support.
For INSITE, the EAEF Conference 2026 provided a valuable opportunity to gain international perspectives, exchange experiences and gather fresh ideas for the continued development of our own services.
We would like to thank all speakers, partners and colleagues for the inspiring conversations, open exchange and many new connections. We return with fresh ideas, valuable insights and great optimism for the future of Employee Assistance and workplace wellbeing.
