The World 4.0: The level of knowledge available globally is constantly growing, with existing technologies being replaced by new innovations. This requires enormous flexibility and adaptability (both personally and professionally). People are suffering from time pressures and a glut of information, with employees complaining about being under-appreciated and not having enough social support. Permanent stress can cause a spiral effect, starting with problems sleeping and ending in depression.
What can you do at an operational level to counteract this? From a structural perspective, you can alternate between high-tempo and quieter periods and anchor moments for reflection after processes and projects.
Each individual has the ability personally to learn how to adopt a more resilient internal approach.
The ability to switch from auto-pilot to careful reflection in stressful situations is a powerful skill.
